From Floyd Virginia Court House on Main Street: (77 miles) Head west on E Main St toward S Locust St. Take the 1st right onto VA-8 N/N Locust St.. follow VA-8 N. Turn right to merge onto I-81 N toward Roanoke. Take exit 150A to merge onto US-220 Alt. When that road ends, turn left onto 460 East heading towards Lynchburg (also called Route 22I). Go about 12 miles. Pass the town of Montvale (lots of gas tanks). Continue on 460 East for about two miles. Turn left on #689 (Irving Road). Take next left on Murray Hollow Road.(#717) At the beginning of Murray Hollow Road, go 3 1/2 miles up the mountain - you will climb almost 1000 feet (The first mile is paved, then it changes to a state-maintained gravel road) until you see three blue mailboxes & Serenity's Edge sign. Go through the blue gate. PLEASE check in at the house with the steps, marked "Sunshine".
From Bedford, Virginia: ( 12 miles) Take Route 460 West for about 8 miles. Within a half mile of your turn off, look for a long white fence and the 460 Truck & Auto Repair. After that, take the next right on Nester Road (#690). Immediately you will go over a railroad track. Turn left on Irving Road (#689) Go about 1/2 mile. Take next right on Murray Hollow Road (#717) At the beginning of Murray Hollow Road, go 3 1/2 miles up the mountain - you will climb almost 1000 feet (The first mile is paved, then it changes to a state-maintained gravel road) until you see three blue mailboxes & the Serenity's Edge sign. From Blacksburg, Virginia (63 miles) Take the I-81 N/US-460 E ramp to Salem/Roanoke. Merge onto I-81 N. Take exit 150A to merge onto US-220 Alternate. Turn left onto US-221 N/US-460 E/Challenger Ave NE. Continue to follow US-221 N/US-460 E. Turn left onto Irving Rd/State Route 689 Go 3 1/2 miles up the mountain - you will climb almost 1000 feet (The first mile is paved, then it changes to a state-maintained gravel road) until you see three blue mailboxes & Serenity's Edge sign. From the Blue Ridge Parkway: (14 miles) At Mile Marker #106, take the Bedford/ 460 exit. Continue on 460 East. Pass the town of Montvale (lots of gas tanks). Continue on 460 East for about two miles. Turn left onto #689 (Irving Road). From I-81: (17 miles) Take exit 150A and take 220 Alternate, go about 5 miles. When road ends, turn left onto 460 East heading towards Lynchburg (also called Route 22I). Go about 12 miles. From Roanoke Airport: (26 miles 39 minutes) Take Aviation Avenue to I 581 S. Get off at the second Orange Ave exit onto Orange Ave/460E. Go about 16 miles. Pass the town of Montvale (lots of gas tanks). Continue on 460 East for about two miles. Turn left onto #689 (Irving Road). From Charlottesville, Virginia: ( 105 miles) Take Route 29 South to Route 460 West. You will go 36 miles once on 460. . From Richmond, Virginia:( 146 miles) Exit onto US-360 W/Hull Street Rd toward Amelia. Continue to follow US-360 W for 31.4 miles. Turn right at VA -307 W/Holly Farms Road and go 9.4 miles. Turn onto Route 460 West and go 87.4 miles. . Within a half mile of your turn off, look for a long white fence and the 460 Truck & Auto Repair. After that, take the next right on Nester Road (#690). Immediately you will go over a railroad track. Turn left on Irving Road (#689) Go about 1/2 mile. From Washington D.C.: (212 miles) Take I-66 W. Go 75 miles. Take exit 1A onto I-81S towards Roanoke. About 20 miles before the I81 150A exit you will see the Buchanan exit that goes over to the Blue Ridge parkway and then down into a large valley. While this is a shorter route mileage wise and many GPS direct you this way, It is suggested you DO NOT take this route. There are many steep and winding roads. Instead--Take exit 150A off of I81 onto 220 Alternate, go about 5 miles. When road ends, turn left onto 460 East heading towards Lynchburg (also called Route 22I). Go about 12 miles. Pass the town of Montvale (lots of gas tanks). Continue on 460 East for about two miles. Turn left on #689 (Irving Road). Take next left on Murray Hollow Road.(#717) At the beginning of Murray Hollow Road, go 3 1/2 miles up the mountain - you will climb almost 1000 feet (The first mile is paved, then it changes to a state-maintained gravel road) until you see three blue mailboxes & Serenity's Edge sign. From Danville: (98 miles) Take US-29-Danville Expressway North for 51 miles to Lynchburg. Merge onto US-460 West (towards Roanoke) and drive 30 miles. . Within a half mile of your turn off, look for a long white fence and the 460 Truck & Auto Repair. After that, take the next right on Nester Road (#690). Immediately you will go over a railroad track. Turn left on Irving Road (#689) Go about 1/2 mile.
