Warren Minton and his staff have been doing our wedding photography for several years. They offer exceptional photos! Unless the photo package is included in the package, you will be responsible for paying them directly

Photography Booking Policy: A credit card is required and a deposit of $50. is due at the time of the booking. The balance is due on the day of the wedding in cash or via check.

Cancellation Policy: If you cancel 21 days or less prior to your wedding a $50. cancellation fee will apply.

VIRGINIA CIRCUIT COURT

INFORMATION FOR LICENSES:

Virginia Marriage License Requirements:

No blood test, waiting time or residency are required. Once you have your license you can marry immediately!

Both of you must apply for your license together at any Virginia courthouse. A valid ID is needed, including a picture, current address and date of birth. You must be at least 18 years old.

Serenity's Edge cannot provide your marriage license--this is a legal process which you must do yourself.

IMPORTANT!

There have been instances where couples have waited until the last minute to get their license only to find the court house closed.

If you have not gotten your Virginia license, you cannot be married.

Note: The Floyd Court house is usually open on Saturday mornings to get licenses

If getting your license from Bedford County (this is 12 miles from Serenity's Edge) and you need more information, call the Bedford County Circuit Court Clerk's office at (540) 586-7632.

You can purchase your marriage license from any Virginia court house. You must pay by Cash. (about $35.)

Hours vary but usually are 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday--except Holidays. Some are closed for half a day and some take off an hour for lunch. It is best to call and check their hours.

DATE BOOKING POLICY:

When you wish to reserve your wedding date, a credit card (Visa or Master Card) is required to secure it. There is a non-refundable deposit of $100. which will be charged immediately upon reserving your date. This deposit is applied to your wedding charges.

If you are only booking a ceremony, full payment is due at the time of reserving your wedding date.

For ceremony packages with cottages:

Half the total price is charged (Visa or Master Card) the day your date is reserved. The balance of payment is due 14 days in advance.. If booking 13 days or less in advance, the entire payment is due on the day of booking.

You will receive a confirmation letter and a receipt when your payment is processed.

If you need to change your date or cancel:

Once you have reserved your wedding date, if you need to permanently cancel your plans 21 days or less before your reserved date, your payment is refundable ONLY if your present date and/or cottage can be re-booked. In the case where your date is re-booked, a check will be mailed to you after your original reserved date, less a $100.

If you need to re-schedule your wedding after your full payment has been credited and with at least 14 days or more advance notice, we will gladly re-schedule your wedding up to six months.

After your arrival, if an there is an early departure, there will be no refund.

Delivered to your cottage after your arrival as per your request OR, we will be glad to place them in the cottage before your arrival.

Frederic's Flowers at 112N Bridge Street in Bedford will deliver flowers to Serenity's Edge if your order is at least $35. PLUS a $15 delivery charge. They do excellent work! You can call them at 540-586-9616 to arrange this service. They will bill you directly.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGES

Patty Mason is a certified massage therapist, covered under the National Massage Therapist Association. She specializes in therapeutic massage, deep tissue and Swedish and facial massage. She is NOT employees of Serenity's Edge and we are not liable for services that you arrange. You make the arrangements, schedule the times and pay her directly. She requires an advance appointment and you will be using her facilities.

$50. for one hour massage if you drive to Patty's pretty country home, near the Peaks of Otter, at 3887 Wheats Valley Road. OR $60 for one hour massage if you drive to Patty's Bedford office. Call Patty at: 540-587-6601

LEGAL POLICY FOR SERVING

ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AT WEDDINGS:

If you are an overnight guest at Serenity's Edge, we can serve you a champagne toast (if you wish) at the wedding. No other alcoholic beverages are permitted at the wedding.

If you are NOT an overnight guest staying at Serenity's Edge, we cannot serve you any alcoholic beverage, nor are any alcoholic beverages allowed on this property.

MARRIAGES HERE ARE LEGALLY

RECOGNIZED IN THE UK

If you are from the UK, and wish to be married here, your marriage is legally recognized in the UK. (the U.S. and the United Kingdom have a reciprocal marriage agreement)

Canada: please check beforehand since marriage requirements can be different in each Canadian province or territory.
